Every life matters. Every moment counts.
Risk of Suicide
Suicide risk rises when many vulnerabilities come together, especially untreated mental illness, intense stress, and easy access to lethal means.
👩⚕️ Women with depression, anxiety, trauma, or substance use disorders need particularly careful monitoring and support.
💔 Mental health conditions such as major depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance use are among the strongest risk factors for suicidal thoughts and attempts.
🩺 Additional risks include previous suicide attempts, family history of suicide, chronic pain or serious medical illness, social isolation, domestic violence, and access to pesticides, medications, or other lethal means.
